About the Pusher Centrifuge
Pusher Centrifuge
The Pusher Centrifuge is widely used in the chemical, petrochemical, and mining industries for separating solids and liquids in slurries.
The primary application of a Pusher Centrifuge is the separation of salt crystals (NaCl) from saturated brine solutions.
The Pusher Centrifuge model P100, owned by Arvand Petrochemical Company and fully rebuilt and overhauled by Hamgam Sanat Knowledge-Based Company, is a medium-to-large industrial model designed for the separation of coarse and heavy crystals, particularly NaCl, ammonium chloride (NH₄Cl), sulfates, and similar materials.
At Arvand Petrochemical, the Pusher Centrifuge model P100 is specifically applied for the lake brine process to produce pure industrial salt.

Technical Overview of the Pusher Centrifuge
The pusher centrifuge is a continuous centrifuge where feeding, filtration, washing, and solids discharge are performed continuously.
Operation Process
- Feed Entry:
Salt slurry enters the perforated drum (Perforated Basket).
- Phase Separation:
Rapid drum rotation generates centrifugal force that pushes the liquid (brine) through the filter or perforations while retaining the salt crystals on the filter surface.
- Pusher Mechanism:
A piston or mechanical “pusher” advances the solids toward the discharge outlet.
- Washing:
Before final discharge, crystals are usually washed with water or a washing solution to remove impurities.
- Product Discharge:
The discharged solids are dry, purified salt crystals.
Application at Arvand Petrochemical Salt Lake Project
In this project, the main goal is recovering industrial salt (NaCl) from brine, which is then used in chlor-alkali processes or petrochemical material purification.
The pusher centrifuge offers the following advantages in this application:
- Continuous operation with high capacity (several tons per hour)
- Low moisture content in output (~3–5%)
- Effective washing of crystals
- Suitable for coarse crystals such as NaCl or NH₄Cl
